Essentials of Understanding Psychology 13th Edition:
Robert Feldman, the author of “Essentials of Understanding Psychology 13th Edition,” has had a long and successful career in teaching and research. He is currently the Deputy Chancellor and Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he also founded the first-year experience course for incoming students called POWER Up for Student Success.
Professor Feldman has won many awards for his teaching, including the College Outstanding Teaching Award at UMass, and has taught courses at several universities. He is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
In addition to his teaching career, Professor Feldman has published over 200 scientific articles, book chapters, and books, some of which have been translated into multiple languages. His research interests include honesty and truthfulness in everyday life, development of nonverbal behavior in children, and the social psychology of education. He has received grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute on Disabilities and Rehabilitation Research to support his research.
In his spare time, Professor Feldman enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and traveling. He lives in western Massachusetts with his wife, who is also an educational psychologist.
