Test Bank Cultural Anthropology A Toolkit for a Global Age, 2nd Ed Kenneth J. Guest:
To inspire students to think like anthropologists in a multicultural and global age, the Second Edition of Ken Guest’s Cultural Anthropology: A Toolkit for a Global Age is considered the most successful textbook. This edition covers the fundamental concepts of cultural anthropology by demonstrating that global forces have a greater impact on local culture now than ever before, and that the tools of cultural anthropology are relevant to living in a globalizing world. The ‘Test Bank Cultural Anthropology’ is a resource that provides answers to the most frequently asked questions based on the textbook, but it is recommended that readers purchase the textbook to use this resource more effectively.
Kenneth J. Guest, a professor at Baruch College, is the author of God in Chinatown: Religion and Survival in New York’s Evolving Immigrant Community (2003), which examines topics such as China, New York City, immigration, religion, and transnationalism. Guest’s research, conducted in both China and the United States, focuses on immigration, religion, globalization, ethnicity, entrepreneurship, China, and New York’s Chinatown. He has authored several scholarly and popular publications, including Cultural Anthropology: A Toolkit for a Global Age, Essentials of Cultural Anthropology: A Toolkit for a Global Age, Cultural Anthropology Fieldwork Journal, and Cultural Anthropology: A Reader for a Global Age. His work has been featured in The New York Times, National Public Radio, the BBC, and other media outlets.
Professor Guest’s research focuses on new Chinese immigrants from Fuzhou, southeast China, who have revitalized New York’s Chinatown by finding jobs in the restaurant, construction, and garment industries, and have been aided by a large people smuggling network. He examines the role of Fuzhounese religious communities in China and the United States, the religious revival sweeping China’s coastal regions, the Fuzhounese influence on the rapidly growing U.S. network of all-you-can-eat buffets and take-out restaurants, and the experiences of the Fuzhounese second generation in higher education.
